Penn State, BYU, and Wyoming all lost for the first time, joining Alabama, as the list of unbeaten FBS programs shrank from 17 to 13. Meanwhile, Oklahoma rallied from 28 down to beat Texas, and a late field goal kept Notre Dame from dropping a second straight game.

Jonathan Doerer kicked a 48-yard field goal with 17 seconds left and Notre Dame rallied from 29-21 down in the final 3:55 to steal a 32-29 win at Virginia Tech.
Wake Forest won a 40-37 overtime match at Syracuse to remain undefeated. The Demon Deacons are 6-0 for the first time since 1944.
Michigan moved to 6-0 when a 39-yard field goal with 1:24 left gave the Wolverines a 32-29 win at Nebraska. The 'Huskers fumbled and turned the ball over on downs on their last two possessions.
Elsewhere, Georgia notched a 34-10 road win over Auburn in the 126th edition of the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry. The 'Dawgs have won 5 straight over the Tigers and 8 of the last 9.
Kentucky is 6-0 for the first time since 1950 after a 42-21 win over LSU.
A TD with 10 seconds to go in the first half extended Utah's lead to 21-10 at USC at the break and the Utes rolled on to a 42-26 win over the Trojans.
UMass ended a 16-game losing streak with a 27-13 win in Amherst over UConn. The Minutemen were ranked 128th and the Huskies were 130th out of 130 FBS teams, according to the Congrove Computer Rankings at CollegeFootballPoll.com.
Ole Miss won a 52-51 barnburner over Arkansas when a 2-point conversion pass with no time remaining sailed over the intended target in the back of the endzone. The wild finish saw 3 TD's scored in the final 1:22 as the Razorbacks tied it at 45 only to have the Rebels retake the lead at 52-51 in just 2 plays and 15 seconds of elapsed time. Arkansas responded with a 9-play, 75-yard drive to pull within one as the clock struck 0:00. The final score marks the third time since 2001 that the two schools have have played a game with both teams scoring over 50 points, including a 7-OT thriller in 2001 which Arkansas won 58-56 and a 53-52 single overtime win for the Hogs in 2015.
UCF needed a 1-yard TD run with 23 seconds for a 20-16 home win over East Carolina.
A 36-yard TD pass with 51 seconds left gave Georgia Tech a 31-27 win at Duke.
Don't look now, but UTEP is 5-1 after a 26-13 win at Southern Miss. It's the best record for the Miners through 6 games since 2010 when they also started 5-1 but finished 6-7.
There were only 51 games on the docket and 14 resulted in outright upsets. No FBS team played a FCS schoos. A total of 28 teams were idle this week, including Clemson, Iowa State, Oklahoma State and Oregon.

2 teams will play 2 FCS teams this fall (UConn and UMass), and 115 teams will play 1 FCS school for a total of 117 such matchups. 105 of those 117 games have already been played.
No FCS-FBS games took place this week. The FBS is 95-10 this season. Since we began tracking this in 2003, the FBS teams are now 1,564-138 (.919).
Last year, 30 FBS teams played a total of just 34 games against FCS schools and the FCS won just 1 game (1-33). That honor also went to Jacksonville State with its 19-10 victory over FIU.
