Week 16 Feature Picks - Computer Predicts 4 Upsets

December 16, 2020 by Staff

NOTE: A daft after this article was posted, the Sun Belt Championship game featuring Louisiana at Coastal Carolina was canceled due to covid issues in the Chanticleers' program.

Coming off a week when the computer's upset picks were 7-4 against the spread, here are the feature picks for championship weekend.

The computer is projecting 4 outright upsets this week, including a Sun Belt title game opposite play favoring Louisiana over undefeated Coastal Carolina. Keep in mind that these teams met in Lafayette in the regular season with the Chanticleers pulling out the 30-27 victory. The championship game is at Conway, South Carolina.

The other opposite picks have home-standing Oregon State knocking off Arizona State, Michigan State winning at Maryland, and the nomadic team from Stanford getting the nod at UCLA.

We only one have one candidate in the Easy Pickin's department, selecting Air Force to cover the spread at Army. That game opened at 1-1/2 and was still available in some select places, but had risen to 2-1/2 at most sportsbooks on Wednesday morning. Last week's plays in this category were 2-0 SU and ATS.

Our underdog covers are Northwestern, Ball State and Minnesota in the "Hold Your Horses" category. Our selections in this department last week went 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS.
