The Congrove Computer Rankings at CollegeFootballPoll.com had projected 9 outright upsets this weekend, but 4 of those games have now been canceled or postponed due to Covid-related issues. All of the opposite picks are listed in our Feature Picks. We also hand-selected 8 other games for your consideration and, so far, those have all survived a Covid cut.
The canceled upset picks are Tulsa at Navy, Air Force at Army West Point, Cal at Washington, and FIU-UTEP.
The five computer upset picks that are still applicable include Boise State over BYU, and Colorado over UCLA. The latter is an opening week game in the PAC-12.
Last week, the computer's upset picks were 6-4 ATS while our selections in the "Easy Pickins" and "Hold Your Horses" categories went 5-4 ATS.
"Easy Pickins" choices are games in which the computer is calling for the Vegas favorite to exceed the spread. The five contests we chose in that category this week are Wyoming at Colorado State, Houston at Cincinnati, Troy at Georgia Southern, New Mexico at Hawaii, and West Virginia at Texas. On the season, our selectionsd in this category are 19-8 SU and 14-13 ATS.
"Hold Your Horses" picks take the underdog to beat the spread. We've chosen 3 games for that cache of picks this week - Baylor at Iowa State, Clemson at Notre Dame, and the Georgia-Florida rivalry clash in Jacksonville. In this category, we've gone 13-5 SU and 10-8 ATS.
