The Texas Longhorns used a potent offense and stingy defense to hand the defending national champion Michigan Wolverines a 31-12 loss in front of over 111,000 fans at the Big House. Texas used a 17-point second quarter to take control of the game and never look back, holding onto their No. 3 spot in the US LBM Coaches Poll.
The top five remained unchanged with Georgia still on top. Notre Dame’s upset loss, along with Michigan’s loss, caused a shakeup in the bottom half of the top 10. Tennessee rose three spots to No. 9 while Utah jumped one spot to No. 10.
