Philadelphia and Kansas City will battle again, two years after their Super Bowl 57 Duel in the Desert, with the Eagles seeking to avenge that 38-35 loss and the Chiefs looking to become the first team to ever three-peat as NFL champions in the Super Bowl era.
The Green Bay Packers won the 1965 NFL Championship, followed by the first two Super Bowls.
The early line at FanDuel.com has the Chiefs by 1.5 while the NFL Congrove Computer Rankings favor the Eagles by 3.12.
Philadelphia advanced by running roughshod over Washington, 55-23, as Saquon Barkley ran for 188 yards and 3 scores, and Jalen Hurts ran for 3 more TD's while passing for another. Will Shipley ran for the final TD after setting up his 2-yard score with a 57-yard run. In all, the Eagles amassed 229 yards on the ground. Barkley started his day with a 60-yard touchdown run on the team's first play from scrimmage after it had taken Washington 18 plays and just over 7 minutes to settle for a 34-yard field goal and a 3-0 lead. It would be the only lead of the game for Commanders.
Philadelphia outscored Washington 27-15 in the first half and 28-8 in the second half, including a 21-0 4th quarter. The Commanders end their season with a record of 14-6.
Kansas City let a 21-10 lead slip away and suddenly trailed Buffalo, 22-21, with 2:56 to go in the 3rd quarter after James Cook's 1-yard run. The Bills had an opportunity to extend the lead after holding KC to a 3-and-out, but Josh Allen was stuffed on a 4th-and-1 at the Chief's 41-yard line. Pat Mahomes took advantage with a run for 7 yards, followed by passes of 16 and 10 yards to Kareem Hunt, before finishing the 5-play drive with a 10-yard keeper around right end for a 29-22 lead with 10:14 left in the game.
Josh Allen responded by guiding the Bills on a 9-play, 70-yard rive to knot the score with 6:15 left, but Mahomes took the Chiefs to the Buffalo 10 before a 7-yard sack and two incompletions led to a Harrison Butker 35-yard field goal. After that Buffalo tend the ball over on downs at its own 47 and Kansas City converted two first downs to run out the clock for the 32-29 win.
Buffalo's season ends at 15-5.
