NOTE: CollegeFootballPoll.com's Dave Congrove is among the voters.
Top-ranked Alabama once again received all 51 first-place votes in the new FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll released today. The top seven teams all stayed put, while Washington State and Ohio State switched places at Nos. 8-9. LSU and UCF remained at No. 10 and No.11, respectively. Syracuse moved up a spot to No. 12.
The poll is voted on by a panel of football writers and college football Hall Of Fame members.
Kentucky, Mississippi State and Boston College all dropped out of the poll after suffering losses. Those teams were replaced by Utah State (first-time in the poll this season), Florida and Penn State. Texas moved up two slots to No. 13 after a road victory at Texas Tech.
The SEC led all leagues with four teams in the poll. The Big 12 and Big Ten had three each, and the ACC had two. The American, Independents, Mountain West and Pac-12 had one team each in the poll.

The poll was established at the conclusion of the 2013 season by long-time partners, the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and the National Football Foundation (NFF). Voters rank the top 16 teams in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, and the results will be released every Monday of the 2018 season; the individual votes of all members will also be made public. The pollsters consist of FWAA writers and College Football Hall of Famers who were selected to create a balanced-geographical perspective.
