The Congrove Computer Rankings will finally add NFL Picks and Rankings this season.
The rankings for the FBS (1-A) were first devised in 1992 and made public in 1993 via a syndicated radio show called "The Computer Sez". CollegeFootballPoll.com made its internet debut prior to the 1999 season and the radio show was subsequently retired after that season.
The Congrove Computer Rankings are in their 32nd year for the FBS, and the 5th season for the FCS (1-AA) after making their debut on the website during the 2020 season that extended into the Spring of 2021 due to Covid.
The accuracy of the college rankings and picks led to numerous requests each year to provide a NFL model, but the notion was rejected because the NFL is vastly different from college. Any new system would have to be measured and tested over seasons of real performance.
Finally, those tests have been completed and the NFL Picks page is up and running. The projected computer margins will be added soon to the currently available sportsbooks lines.
The NFL Rankings page is also uploaded. The projected finishes, as well as the opening week rankings, will soon be added.
