The Michigan Wolverines were the preseason pick of the Congrove Computer Rankings to win the national championship, and they accomplished that feat with Monday night's 34-13 win over the Washington Huskies.

The computer had Michigan ranked No.1 throughout the year. Washington was preseason-ranked No. 7.

The final rankings drop the Huskies to No. 3, behind Georgia and Michigan, while Florida State comes in at No. 4. Georgia demolished FSU 63-3 in the Orange Bowl, but the 'Noles were missing 30 scholarship players due to injuries, NFL Draft opt-outs or entering the transfer portal.

Oregon, whose only two losses came at the hands of the Huskies, is ranked 5th. The Ducks handed Liberty its only loss of the season in the Fiesta Bowl, 45-6.

Alabama, which upset Georgia in the SEC Championship game and was invited to the Final Four instead of FSU, is ranked 6th. The Tide lost 27-20 to Michigan in the semifinal game played at the Rose Bowl.

Ohio State is 7th, followed by Final Four participant Texas at No. 8. The Buckeyes lost 14-3 to Missouri in the Cotton Bowl while Texas fell 37-31 to Washington in the Sugar Bowl.

Ole Miss is ranked 9th after its first 11-win season in program history was achieved by knocking off Penn State 38-25 in the Peach Bowl.

Missouri rounds out the top ten after the win over Ohio State.
