Maxwell, Bednarik and Ray Guy Award Winners For Weekend of 9/16-9/17

Each week during the 2022 season the Maxwell Football Club will recognize outstanding performances with two weekly awards. The Maxwell Award Player of the Week will be recognized for overall performance on offense, defense or special teams, and the Chuck Bednarik Award Player of the Week will be honored for outstanding defensive player. Players selected do not have to be represented on the Maxwell or Bednarik Award watch list.

Additionally, the Augusta Sports Council will announce the Ray Guy Award top punter each week .

Maxwell Award Player of the Week - QB Bo Nix, Oregon

University of Oregon quarterback Bo Nix has been named Maxwell Award Player of the Week after propelling the Ducks to a big win over #12 BYU 41-20. The 6-2, 213-pound senior quarterback went 13-18 for 222 passing yards and 2 touchdowns, while also accounting for 3 touchdowns on the ground for the Ducks. Nix became the first Oregon QB with three rushing TDs and two passing TDs in a game since Marcus Mariota on Dec. 5, 2014. Nix and the Ducks look ahead to Saturday's road matchup against the Washington State Cougars in Pullman.

Bednarik Award Player of the Week - LB Daiyan Henley, Washington State

Washington State linebacker Daiyan Henley was named the Chuck Bednarik Award Player of the Week following Saturday’s 38-7 win over Colorado State. The 6-2, 232-pound linebacker accounted for 13 tackles, 3 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. Henley is fourth in the Pac-12 in tackles, leads in sacks and tackles-for-loss, and is tied for lead in forced fumbles. Henley and the Cougars look ahead to a tough matchup with Oregon in Pullman.

Ray Guy Punter of the Week - Lachlan Wilson, Tulsa

The Augusta Sports Council and the Ray Guy Award are proud to announce Lachlan Wilson of Tulsa as the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week for Week 3 games. Lachlan was chosen from Ray's 8 that also included Adam Korsak of Rutgers, Kai Kroger of South Carolina, Mason Hunt of Southern Miss, Michael Turk of Oklahoma, Nik Constantinou of Texas A&M, Peter Moore of Virginia Tech, Tory Taylor of Iowa.

Wilson punted 4 times during the game against Jacksonville State for a total of 178 yards. His gross average was 44.5 and his net average was 47.75 yards due to him having only 1 punt returned for -13 yards. All four of his punts ended up inside Jacksonville State's 20-yard line and he had a long punt of 50 yards.

Virginia Tech's Moore has been on the list of Ray's 8 every week this season.
