FBS Computer Rankings: Tennessee Rises to 5th, 'Bama Drops to 6th

The epic 52-49 Tennessee win over Alabama on Saturday was just enough to skip the Vols over the Tide into 5th place in the latest Congrove Computer Rankings, released within minutes of the final FBS game of the weekend in Hawaii.

Idle Ohio State stays in the top spot, but Georgia squeezes past Michigan into 2nd as the Wolverines are now rank 3rd. Only 0.38 ratings points separate the two squads.

Clemson moves up from 6th to 4th, while Tennessee rises from 7th to 5th, just ahead of Alabama. Only 0.06 ratings points stand between the Vols and Tide.

Meanwhile, Ole Miss inches upward from 8th to 7th.

TCU's win over Oklahoma State puts the Horned Frogs just ahead of the Cowboys. TCU rises from 9th to 8th while Oklahoma State drops from 5th to 9th.

Syracuse cracks the Top Ten, moving up 3 spots after knocking off NC State.

The SEC now has 4 of the top 7 spots, but only one other team in the Top 25 with Mississippi State falling from 11th to 21st after a 27-17 loss at Kentucky.

The Big Ten has 2 of the top 3, while the Big 12 has two of the top 9 and the ACC has two of the Top 10.

The Bottom Five this week is Charlotte at 127, New Mexico State at 128, Akron at 129, FIU at 130 and UMass at 131.
