Mark Dantonio stepped down as the head coach at Michigan State, the school announced on Tuesday (February 4).

Dantonio's 13-year stint in East Lansing produced a record of 115-57 and he leaves as the school's winningest head coach. He was 609-39 in Big Ten games and 6-6 in bowl games.
Mike Tressel was named acting head coach. Under Dantonio, Tressel had been serving as Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers Coach.
