The biggest news of the day was No. 9 Oklahoma's 38-33 loss at Kansas. The Sooners slipped to No. 15 in the rankings, which seems a bit extreme. for a 1-loss team that earlier handed Texas its only defeat.
Oregon routed then-No. 12 Utah 35-6 and took a huge jump from 10 to 6, right behind the Washington team that beat the Ducks by 3 earlier this year.
Texas bumps up a notch after romping past BYU 35-6.
Idle Alabama slips 2 spots to 9th., and Ole Miss rises 1 to 10th on the heels of a 33-7 win at home over Vanderbilt.
Nos. 11 through 14 are LSU, Notre Dame (+8 spots), Kansas State (+6), and Air Force.
Duke is the only team that dropped from the top 25 after a 23-0 loss at Louisville. UCLA enters at No. 25 after a 28-16 win over Colorado.
No. 21 Tulane is the top team in-line for the Group of 5 invitation to the New Year's Six Bowls. The 1-loss Green Wave are two spots ahead of the 8-0 Dukes this week. Last year, Tulane played in the Cotton Bowl and defeated USC 46-45.
