Mayfield enters the bowl season ranked 4th nationally in passing yards per game (333.8), 2nd in total passing yards (4,340), 2nd in TD passes (41), and topped the charts in passer rating (203.76) and completion percentage (71.0%).
The Sooners joining Mayfield are tight end Mike Andrews (Mackey Award), OL Orlando Brown and DE Ogbonnia Okoronkwo.
Bryce Love of Stanford and Rashaad Penny of San Diego State take running back honors. Love rushed for 1,973 yards and 17 touchdowns while Penny totaled 2,027 yards and 19 scores. Those two eked out Jonathan Taylor of Wisconsin (1,847 yards and 13 TD's) and scoring machine Devin Singletary of FAU whose 32 touchdowns trail only Barry Sanders (37, 1988) and Montee Ball (33, 2011) for the most in FBS history.
