College Football Computer Rankings: Top 3 Unchanged, Air Force To 16th, James Madison Enters at No. 21

There is no change this week among the top 3 teams as Michigan holds the top spot, ahead of Florida State and Ohio State.

The latest Congrove Computer Rankings which were released early Sunday morning saw idle Georgia move ahead of Washington for 4th.

Michigan was a 49-0 winner at Michigan State, while 2nd-ranked Florida State pulled away in the 4th quarter for a 38-20 win over Duke, and Ohio State out-defensed Penn State 20-12.

Penn State only slipped two spots from 4th to 6th with the loss.

Alabama jumped 5 spots from 12th to 7th with its 34-20 comeback win over Tennessee in which the Tide outscored the Vols 27-0 in the second half.

Texas rose 1 spot from 9th to 8th as the Longhorns escaped Houston with a 31-24 win.

Oklahoma is right behind the Longhorns after a 31-29 escape of their own, at home over UCF.

Oregon stays put at No. 10 after a 38-24 win over Washington State.

North Carolina plummeted from 7th to 13th on the heels of a 31-27 loss to then-No. 109 Virginia. The Cavs (2-5) are still only ranked 102nd.

Tennessee plunged from 8th to 17th with the loss to 'Bama, its second of the season

USC dropped 7 spots to 22nd after dropping a 34-32 decision at home to Utah, while the Utes rose from 14th to 12th. Just two weeks ago, the Trojans were ranked No. 9 and had been as high as No. 3.

Air Force won the opening leg of the Commander-In-Chief's round-robin competition among the three academies. The Falcons, who currently possess the trophy,  rise to 16th after the 17-6 victory over Navy in Annapolis.

James Madison gains entry to the Top 25 after improving to 7-0 with a 20-9 win at Marshall. The Dukes show up at No. 21 for a 5-spot jump from a week ago.

Undefeated Teams

A total of 9 teams remain undefeated after 2 fell from those ranks. The losers were Penn State at Ohio State, and North Carolina at home to Virginia.

Top 25 Breakdown By Conference

The SEC leads all conferences with 6 teams in the Top 25, followed by the PAC-12 with 5, while the ACC has 4.

The B1G and the Big 12 each have 3.

Four spots belong to teams outside of the Power 5 Conferences with 1 Independent, and 1 each from the American, Mountain West and Sun Belt.

The highest ranked teams from the other two conferences are Liberty at 42 (CUSA) and Toledo at 33 (MAC).
