So far, this has been one fantastic year in college football. You can easily make a case for multiple teams to be No. 1 and it's going be a lot of fun to see what happens between now and the end of the season.
Here's how the latest Congrove Computer Rankings have it after another weekend of scintillating football, but very little chaos.
1. Michigan stays at the top after whipping Indiana.
2. Florida State stays second after crushing Syracuse.
3. Ohio State jumps 3 spots after blasting Purdue.
4. Penn State moves up one by burying nobody (UMass).
5. Washington actually slips 2 spots, despite winning the biggest game of the weekend over Oregon. But remember, the computer doesn't have a short memory - it takes all of the games of the entire season into consideration every week.
6. Georgia slips 2 spots after ho-humming its way past Vanderbilt.
7. North Carolina gains a spot after ripping Miami.
8. Tennessee moves up 2 with a solid win over Texas A&M.
9. Texas rises 3 spots while doing nothing.
10. Oregon only drops 3 spots with the narrow loss to Washington in the biggest game of the weekend.
11. Oklahoma rises 2 spots while watching TV.
12. Alabama slips a spot after edging Arkansas (17th straight win over Hogs).
13. Ole Miss rises one while enjoying the weekend off.
14. Utah rises 1 spot with a solid win over Cal.
15. USC drops 6 spots after losing for the 6th straight time in South Bend.
16. Oregon State moves up 1 by taking care of UCLA.
17. Duke moves up 1 after walloping NC State with a backup QB.
18. LSU moves up 3 after destroying Auburn. Almost half of the LSU Tigers' games have come against the Tigers - Grambling, Missouri and Auburn.
19. Air Force moves up one by remaining undefeated after knocking off Wyoming for 11th straight win.
20. Notre Dame rises 5 spots with its destruction of Southern Cal.
21. Missouri jumps 8 spots after beating Kentucky and LSU in back-to-back weeks. Again, we're lacking creativity in sports nicknames as 4 of Mizzou's last 5 opponents have been Tigers or Wildcats (Kansas State, Memphis, LSU and Kentucky).
22. Clemson (Tigers) were playing ping pong, or who knows what (idle).and rose 2 spots.
23. Iowa drubbed (we use the term loosely) Wisconsin 15-6 and rose 5 spots. The game had 4 field goals and a safety, but it also had an 82-yard TD run for the Hawkeyes who had just 9 first downs to the Badgers' 18, but had the ball for 66 more seconds. Our minds are about to explode.
24. Kansas State gains 7 spots with impressive win at Texas Tech.
25. Tulane moves up 2 places with 10-point win at Memphis.
