In no particular order, here are the Players of the Week, as announced by some of college football's major award recipients.

Shaun Alexander Award - Freshman Player of the Week

The Maxwell Football Club announces that Florida wide receiver Eugene Wilson has been named the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the week after his performance against Arkansas. In the 39-36 overtime loss, the freshman racked up 8 receptions for 90 yards, with 2 touchdown grabs. Wilson is the first true freshman receiver to catch 2 touchdown passes since 2006 when Riley Cooper collected 3 touchdown passes against Western Carolina. The Gators found themselves down 2 touchdowns early in the first quarter, and that's when Wilson took over early in the game to knot the game back up at 14 a piece. These touchdowns were of 19 and 6 yards. The Gators look to get back on track when they face No. 18 LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge.

Outland Trophy - Interior Lineman of the Week

DALLAS (FWAA) –  Will Putnam helped Clemson more than double the scoring output Notre Dame had yielded this season keyed by its power run game. For achieving the highest grade on the Tigers’ offensive line in Clemson’s 31-23 upset of No. 12 Notre Dame, the Clemson center earned him the  Outland Trophy National Player of the Week honor for games during the college football week ending November 4, as selected by the Football Writers Association of America.

Putnam, a 6-4 senior from Tampa, Fla., was a standout performer on an offensive line that helped propel running back Phil Mafah to a career-high 186 rushing yards against the Fighting Irish. Putnam graded out at 98 percent with six knockdowns and was a leader on a Clemson offense whose 31 points more than doubled the per-game average surrendered by the Irish defense, which entered the game 10th in the nation at 15.3 points per game.

The fifth-year center and Clemson’s first player to earn the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Offensive Lineman of the Week honor this season, also led Clemson to limit Notre Dame to one sack despite starting its third different offensive line combination in as many weeks and its fifth different offensive line combination of the season. The Tigers’ success in the ground game allowed for a school-record-tying 36 carries by Mafah and his 186 yards were the most by a Clemson player since 2021. Mafah was the ACC’s Running Back of the Week.

Clemson has had strong recent representation with the Outland Trophy but still seeks its first winner. Defensive tackle Christian Wilkins was a finalist in 2018. John Simpson, like Putnam a center, was a semifinalist in 2019 and is Clemson’s most recent offensive lineman to make the FWAA’s All-America team. Mitch Hyatt, an offensive tackle, was an Outland Trophy semifinalist in 2018. The other two past Outland Trophy finalists from Clemson were offensive tackle Stacy Long in 1990 and defensive tackle Michael Dean Perry in 1987.

The Tigers host Georgia Tech at Noon ET Saturday broadcast on ABC.

Johnson’s 256 rushing yards is the highest single-game total in the Pac-12 this season and the fifth-best in a game by any player in FBS. He came into the game with just one career 100-yard game, three weeks ago vs. Oregon. On the night, he also added two receptions for 11 yards.

The 6-0, 218-pound junior from Greenville, Miss., sealed the win for 9-0 Washington with a 1-yard scoring run with 2:20 left. In addition to two other short scoring runs, he busted a 52-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

Johnson had the fifth-biggest rushing performance in Washington program history and its first 200-yard game or four-TD game since 2017 as the Huskies racked up 572 total yards in the shootout win.

The Huskies host Utah on Saturday in another critical Pac-12 battle at 3:30 p.m. ET on FOX.

  • Phil Mafah, Clemson: The 6-1, 230-pound junior from Loganville, Ga., had a career day in the Tigers’ 31-23 win over Notre Dame. Carrying the ball a school record-tying 36 times, Mafah ran for 186 yards and two scores. Bronko Nagurski - Defensive Player of the Week

DALLAS (FWAA) – Clemson linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. was all over the field making tackles, but was noticeably present in the Notre Dame backfield as he keyed the Tigers’ 31-23 upset over No. 12 Notre Dame. For his game-high 11 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and a pick-six, Trotter earned the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week honor for the college football week ending November 4, as selected by the Football Writers Association of America.

Trotter, a 6-0 junior from Hainesport, N.J., becomes only the fifth FBS player since 2005 to post defensive stats with double-digit tackles, at least 2.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 or more sacks and have a pick-six in a single game, per the Clemson staff. Trotter spearheaded a Clemson defense that held the nation's 12th-ranked scoring offense to nearly 100 yards below its season average.

His interception came with a 28-yard return for a touchdown. It was the second pick-six of his career, one of many Clemson career marks Trotter is adding his name to this season. The 2.0 sacks were his first multi-sack game of the season and third of his career. He is the first Clemson linebacker in Dabo Swinney’s tenure to record three career games with 2.0 or more sacks.

Trotter earned his first Atlantic Coast Conference Linebacker of the Week award of this season and the third of his career following the Notre Dame win. He is also the first Clemson linebacker to record multiple interception returns for a touchdown in a career since Dorian O’Daniel (two from 2014-17). Clemson held Notre Dame to 146 passing yards and has now held five straight foes to fewer than 200 passing yards for the first time since a 10-game streak in 2019.

Clemson is well represented recently with the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and has had one winner, defensive end Da’Quan Bowers, in the award’s past. Clemson had a run of finalists last decade with linebacker Isaiah Simmons (2019), defensive tackle Christian Wilkins (2018 and 2016) and defensive end Shaq Lawson (2015). Defensive end Gaines Adams was a finalist in 2006. Simmons was the latest of only three Clemson linebackers to ever earn FWAA All-America status. Defensive tackle Tyler Davis was a second-team member on last year’s All-America team and the only Clemson defender to earn the honor this decade.
