The last three undefeated teams among the Power 5 conferences are ranked 1-2-3 in the latest Congrove Computer Rankings, released Sunday morning. Alabama continues to hold the top spot, but last week's 7.07-point lead over Georgia is now a 6.1-point edge over Wisconsin. 3rd-ranked Miami trails the Tide by 8.02 points.
'Bama retained the top pot after escaping Starkville with a 31-24 victory, thanks to a 26-yard TD pass with 25 seconds remaining in the game. Georgia was crushed 40-17 at Auburn, and Notre Dame was ripped 41-8 at Miami (FL).
The CCR Top 130 (Congrove Computer Rankings) began in 1993 and are recognized by the NCAA as a National Champion Major Selector in its annual records books.
The PAC-12 took as a blow as a conference over the weekend as Washington's 30-22 loss to Stanford made it virtually impossible for the league to get a team in the College Football Playoff Final 4. Three Power 5 teams are unbeaten - Alabama, Miami (FL) and Wisconsin - and 3 more have just a single loss. No representative of the PAC-12 has fewer than 2 losses. Additionally, one Group Of Five conferences team - UCF - is also undefeated.
Clemson rounds out this week's computer top 4, while Oklahoma takes 5th.
The next five, are (6) Georgia, (7) Ohio State, (8) UCF, (9) Penn State, and (10) Auburn.
The Big Ten and PAC-12 each have four teams in the top 25 while the ACC, American, Big 12 and SEC are each represented by three schools. There are two independents - Army and Notre Dame - in addition to two teams from the Mountain West and one from the MAC.
