Wisconsin plunged from 5th to 10th after the 24-23 upset loss at Illinois on Saturday. The Badgers first setback came against a team that was just 204 entering the game. Ohio State and LSU remain 1-2 in the latest Congrove Computer Rankings (CCR Top 130), released minutes after completion of the final game of the week.
Another previously undefeated team, Boise State, fell out of the top 25 after a 28-25 loss at BYU. The Broncos dropped from 23rd to 29th.
Clemson trailed Alabama by 1.03 power points a week ago, but leapt the Crimson Tide into 3rd by 0.16 points after the Tigers dumped Louisville 45-10 and the Tide rolled Tennessee 35-13. Oklahoma moved up from 6th to 5th, followed by Penn State, Georgia, Oregon and Auburn.
Idle Notre Dame rose one spot to 11th, while Minnesota climbed to 12th.
Two other teams joined Boise State in dropping uot of the Top 25. Arizona State's 21-3 loss at Utah sent the Sun Devils from 19th to 26th. Washington's 35-31 loss to Oregon caused the Huskies to land in the 28th spot after being ranked 21st a week ago.
The three new entrants are Virginia at No. 25, Wake Forest at No. 24, and SMU at No. 23.
Undefeated Appalachian State made a huge move from 25th to 18th, while Michigan took a big kick down the ladder from 9th to 16th after its second loss of the year (28-21 at Penn State).
SEC teams continue to hold 6 spots in the Top 25, all of which are ranked 20th or higher.
Big Ten teams also own 6 spots in the Top 25, 4 of which are among the top 12.
The Big 12 has 4 members in the Top 25, while the ACC has 3, and the PAC-12 has 2.
The rest of the Top 25 is made up of 1 Independent (Notre Dame), 2 American Conference school (Cincinnati, SMU), and 1 Sun Belt representative (Appalachian State).
