Can Michigan Finish Unbeaten in the NCAA?

November 14, 2022 by Staff

Despite being the third seed in the Top 25 this term, Michigan have once again hugely impressed in the Big 10 Conference of the NCAA in 2023.

Having one of the meanest defenses around, combined with plenty of attacking and creative flair too, has enabled Michigan to enjoy a 10-game unbeaten start to the campaign.

Inevitably, winning a NCAA Championship does not come easy and there are sure to be plenty of hurdles for Michigan to jump through if they are to taste glory this term but such has been the start to their season, that many experts are speculating as to whether they could go the whole season unbeaten.

Wins over the likes of Maryland and Michigan State in recent weeks have given Michigan a steely look to them and they sit top of the Big 10 Conference currently.

Ohio State is sure to provide plenty of opposition to Michigan, possessing an identical record themselves and both sides are growing in confidence with every match that passes.

Incredibly for the Michigan Wolverines however, they have not tasted NCAA glory since 1997 and despite being one of the most recognizable sports teams on the planet, their hiatus from the top table of NCAA football has been a drawn out one.

The 2022/23 season does have a different feel to it though, with Michigan constantly improving their playing roster and the accompanying results are starting to bear fruit.

Illinois await for Michigan in their next Big 10 match before a potentially all or nothing fixture against Ohio State has the potential to define the season of both teams.

For a long time, the Georgia Bulldogs have been backed as the side to beat in the NCAA Championship in 2023 and they are yet to flinch either in terms of results.

Despite not being a side synonymous with success, the Georgia Bulldogs have evolved hugely in the past few seasons and at -120 odds with various betting promotions, they are the hot favorites to claim NCAA glory.

The idea that Michigan are playing for places however is a flawed one, with the Wolverines having been in excellent form this year in the Big 10 Conference.

At +800 for the NCAA Championship, the Michigan Wolverines look well placed to end their 25 year wait for a national title.
The aforementioned Ohio State look set to also have a huge say in the outcome of the NCAA National Championship title, with their own unbeaten status on the line too.

As second seeds, they have snuck under the radar somewhat in 2022 but at +400, they certainly can’t be discarded.

Elsewhere, the Tennessee Volunteers were perhaps the best of the rest when picking a side for NCAA glory but the loss at South Carolina took them out of the mix.
