Cal Will Play at UCLA Sunday, Gardner-Webb at Charlotte canceled

In a move that could only happen in 2020, Cal and UCLA will now play a game on Sunday after each school had their Saturday game against a different opponent canceled.

Cal was supposed to play at Arizona State on Saturday, the same day UCLA was to host Utah. But Arizona State and Utah had to bow out of those games so the Bears and Bruins committed to a Sunday contest which will be televised by FS1 at Noon ET, making this a live 9:00 a.m. kick-off on the west coast.

Also late on Friday, Gardner-Webb had to cancel its game at Charlotte which had only been scheduled 11 days ago. G-W had to back out due to 3 positive Covid tests that led to 8 of the teams' 12 offensive linemen taken out due to contact tracing.

It was also announced on Friday (Nov. 13) that next Friday's (Nov. 20) planned game between UAB and UTEP has been canceled altogether. The game was originally scheduled to be played in El Paso but had been moved to a high school stadium in Midland, Texas due to Covid issues in El Paso.
