A 46-yard field goal with 4 seconds left, and a 4-for-4 performance from that same newly-signed kicker, helped Birmingham improve to 4-0 and in control of the USFL Conference. Meanwhile, the league's attendance-leading St. Louis Battlehawks drew 31,757 fans while the other 3 games combined for 25,692.
(Sunday at Houston) Houston 17, Arlington 9 - Arlington remains winless after the 17-9 loss at Houston as the Roughnecks picked up their fist victory. Houston took a 11-3 into the halftime locker room, and both teams scored TD's with missed 2-point conversions in the 3rd to end the scoring. The offense was paltry as they combined for just 446 total yards and a mere 116 on the ground.
The 7,179 in attendance was nearly 2,000 fewer than Houston's first, and only other, home game. The Roughnecks drew 9,157 in their home opener against Memphis.
Bob Stoops saw his head coaching record at Arlington drop to 6-10, despite winning the XFL Championship a year ago when his team went 4-6 in the regular season before going 2-0 in the playoffs.

(Saturday at St. Louis) St. Louis 32, Memphis 17- St. Louis keeps pace in the XFL Conference with San Antonio as each improved to 3-1 over the weekend. Meanwhile, Memphis fell to 1-3. The Battlehawks continue to lead the UFL by a mile in attendance figures with 31,757 showing up at The Dome. However, that's over 8,000 fewer than the 40,317 that showed up in their only other home game win week 2.
Memphis was held scoreless in the second half while St. Louis added to their 20-17 halftime advantage by adding two AJ McCarron TD passes in the fourth quarter. RB Jacob Saylors' set a franchise record for longest run when he scampered for 57 yards to set up McCarron's second TD pass of the quarter which went for 8 yards to Jahcour Pearson with 5:06 left to play. MCarron had 3 total TD passes in the game to 3 different receivers.

(Saturday at Birmingham) Birmingham 20, DC 18 - Birmingham protected its perfect record with a 20-18 win on a 46-yard field goal with 4 seconds left from Ramiz Ahmed who had just been signed on Tuesday to replace the injured Chris Blewitt. Ahmed was 4-for-4 in the game, including another 46-yarder, as he accounted for 12 of the Stallions 20 points.
With just 1:56 to play until halftime, the game was interrupted by weather for nearly an hour-and-a-half, leaving almost no one present to witness the victory.
Birmingham drew 12,265 for its home opener a week ago, but weather may have kept the crowd numbers down this week as just 7,262 were in attendance.
Kyahva Tezino led the defensive front with nine total tackles (six solo) and two for loss. The two-time defending USFL Champion Stallions are now 24-3 all-time under Skip Holtz in USFL/UFL games.
