Finally, the computer rankings compute. Alabama has ascended to the top of the heap, just as the voter polls have said all year.
Despite the fact that the Tide and Ohio State both won, Alabama jumped over the Buckeyes on the heels of a 39-10 win over Missouri while Ohio State managed a 30-14 victory over Minnesota.
Clemson and Notre Dame take the Nos. 3 and 4 spots, while Michigan rises to 5th and Oklahoma nudges back up from 7th to 6th.
Georgia's loss to LSU wasn't devastating for the Bulldogs as Kirby Smart's team only slides from 5th to 7th and is still one notch ahead of the Tigers. LSU rose from 14th to 8th.
North Carolina State (5-0) gets a boost from 13th to 9th, even though the Wolfpack were idle. And Penn State only dropped down 2 spots, from 8th to 10th, with its 21-17 loss to Michigan State. Meanwhile, the Spartans climbed from 19th to 15th
The Nos. 11 through 14 places are taken by Iowa, Kentucky, Duke and Texas.
Miami plummeted from 11th to 21st, and West Virginia dived from 12th to 25th. Auburn was the only team to drop out of the Top 25, falling from 21st to 38th. Stanford re-enters at No. 24.
The SEC has 6 members in the top 25, all of whom are in the top 20. The Big Ten also has 6 schools in the top 25, followed by the ACC and the PAC-12 with 4-apiece. The Big 12 has 3, while the Independents and the American conference are each representative by a single team.
