The college football bowl schedule, announced Wednesday, May 31st, has 40 games that will take place between December 16 and January 1. The College Football Championship game will conclude the postseason on January 8th when the winners of the semifinal games will collide. This year's semifinal bowl games are the Rose and Sugar, both of which will take place on New Year's Day.
There are no games on New Years Eve since it falls on a Sunday.
The Holiday Bowl is not on the schedule after the San Diego County Credit Union dropped its sponsorship on May 23.
Pop-Tarts takes over the title sponsorship of the Cheez-It Bowl. Cheez-It still sponsors the Citrus Bowl.
68 Ventures, a real estate service, takes over sponsorship naming rights of the bowl game annually played in Mobile. It was most recently called the Lending Tree Bowl.
