Meanwhile, top-ranked Sacramento State avoided an upset loss at home to Idaho. The Hornets needed a late touchdown for the 31-28 win after coughing up a 24-7 lead with consecutive interceptions in the 4th quarter. After the Vandals had taken the lead with 6:26 to go, the Hornets ran the ball for all 13 plays of the ensuing winning drive, marching 75 yards and capping it off with QB Asher O-Hara's 2-yatrd run. Sacramento State employs a 2-QB system and it was Jake Dunniway who threw the picks.

No. 2 Jackson State, which hosted ESPN's College GameDay, romped to a 35-0 over rival Southern (the win resulted in the Tigers taking back the top spot in the computer rankings that it held two weeks ago).
