Top-ranked South Dakota State avoided the carnage as the two-time defending champions and 20 other schools had a bye week. Six more programs had an unexpected bye week, due to the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
The storm caused the postponement of Alabama A&M at Florida A&M until the backend of the season on November 29. The Davidson at Presbyterian game was moved to today at 5 p.m. and the Wildcats will now host, instead of the Blue Hose. Samford at Furman was postponed with no info on a makeup date.

The same is true for Virginia Tech in the ACC. In fact, Texas and Virginia Tech, along with Michigan and Houston, are repeats from last year's list of schools that played all FBS programs.
