Final 2022 FCS Rankings - South Dakota State No. 1

The Final 2022 season Congrove Computer Rankings at CollegeFootballPoll.com were released after the completion of the FCS Championship game on Sunday, January 8 and to no surprise, they have national champion South Dakota State topping the chart. The Jackrabbits downed rival, and perennial powerhouse, North Dakota State 45-21 in the title contest in Frisco, Texas.

The Bison remained at No. 7.

Jackson State, which spent several weeks at No. 1, lost 41-34 in overtime to North Carolina Central in the Celebration Bowl for its only setback of the season. As a result, the Tigers slid from 2nd to 5th.

Montana State rose from 3rd to 2nd, even after falling 39-18 to South Dakota State in a semifinal matchup.

Sacramento State rose from 4th to 3rd. The Hornets lost 66-63 to UIW in the quarterfinals.

UIW rose from 5th to 4th after advancing to the semis and bowing 35-32 at North Dakota State.

Holy Cross stayed at No. 6 after going undefeated until losing 42-21 at South Dakota State in the quarters.

Jacksonville State, which was ineligible for the playoffs but finished 9-2 over-all and 5-0 in the new ASUN, rose from 10th to 8th.

Samford remained at No. 9 as the Bulldogs advanced to the quarterfinal round where they lost 27-9 at North Dakota State.

William & Mary slipped two spots from 8th to 10th after getting rolled 55-7 at Montana State in the quarters.
