Top-ranked South Dakota State rolled 34-0 at Youngstown State, while 2nd-ranked Montana State cruised 57-14 over Eastern Washington in Bozeman. Those two schools will likely continue to be ranked 1-2 in the FCS Congrove Computer Rankings at CollegeFootballPoll.com when they are released Sunday night. They had to be delayed by the movement of the Alcorn State at Texas Southern game to Sunday, due to the Dynamo soccer playoff home game.
Meanwhile, 3rd-ranked Montana romped 34-10 at Portland State, and No. 4 Furman trounced VMI 37-3 in Greenville.
No. 5 Austin Peay and No. 6 Delaware were also winners with the Governors knocking off Utah Tech 30-17 in Clarksville, Tennessee and the Blue Hens doing a 45-7 number on Campbell at Buies Creek, North Carolina.
However, trouble in the form of Howard University, snuck up and bit 7th-ranked North Carolina Central in the nation's capital as the Bison surprisingly soared over the visiting Eagles 50-20. Combined with Morgan State's 20-17 win at South Carolina State, the MEAC now has Howard and those two latter mentioned teams tied at 3-1.
No. 8 Idaho took a 31-29 setback at Weber State, leaving the Big Sky title to be determined by state rivals Montana and Montana State when they clash in Missoula on Saturday at the home of the Griz.
