November 10, 2024 by CollegeFootballPoll.com Staff

The top marquee game on Saturday saw No. 4 UC-Davis (Coaches' Poll) go to Missoula and pull away late for 30-14 win over 7th-ranked Montana. With the victory, the Aggies (9-1, 6-0) stay tied with Montana State (10-0, 6-0) for the Big Sky lead as they get set to host the Bobcats this coming Saturday. There are no 1-loss teams in the conference.

On Friday, Dartmouth was a 26-17 winner at Princeton in a key Ivy League game. Then, on Saturday, No. 25 Harvard was a 26-6 home winner over Columbia, leaving the Big Green and the Crimson in a tie for first place with records of 7-1 over-all and 4-1 in the conference. However, Harvard owns the tie-breaking after scoring a 31-27 win at Dartmouth a week earlier.

In the CAA, Delaware was a 24-21 winner at home over Rhode Island to hand the Rams their first conference loss and knock them out of a tie with Richmond (8-2, 6-0). The Spiders survived their trip to Campbell, thanks to a 36-yard field goal with 1 second remaining. Four teams are now tied for 2nd-place with 5-1 conference marks - Delaware, Rhode Island, Stony Brook and Villanova. However, Delaware is ineligible for the CAA title and the FCS playoffs as the Blue Hens are moving to the FBS next season and are in a transition season.

South Carolina State (7-2, 3-0) was a 38-14 winner at Howard, dropping the Bison to 1-2 in the MEAC and 4-6 over-all. NC Central and Morgan State are tied for second with 2-1 MEAC records. Morgan State host SC State next Saturday. The Bulldogs already own the head-to-head tie-breaker with NC Central.

No. 1 North Dakota State (9-1, 6-0), which was idle, is tied for the MVFC lead with No. 15 Missouri State (8-2, 6-0) which won 59-31 at Murray State.

No. 24 Duquesne and Robert Morris entered their game tied for the NEC lead and the Dukes won with ease, 31-6, at home over the Colonials.

Lehigh moved into a 3-way tie for first in the Patriot with its 10-7 win at Holy Cross that dropped the Crusaders to 3-1, along with the Mountain Hawks and Bucknell. The Bison eked-out a 28-27 win at home over Fordham on a 15-yard TD pass with 2:35 left to play.

The Pioneer continues to be Drake's title to lose after the Bulldogs (7-1, 6-0) won 22-19 at St. Thomas to drop the Tommies to 4-2 in the conference. Morehead State also fell to 4-2 with a 31-14 loss at Davidson, while Butler stays in that tie for 2nd after a 24-17 win at Valparaiso.

13th-ranked Mercer (9-1, 6-1) holds the solo lead in the Southern, just ahead of a trio of teams with two conference losses - Chattanooga, ETSU, and Western Carolina. The Mocs won 31-7 at The Citadel, while the Buccaneers were 24-21 winners at home over the Catamounts.

Meanwhile, Mercer rolled to a 34-0 win at VMI.

UIW (8-2, 5-0) has the lead in the Southland after its 34-31 win at SE Louisiana (6-5, 5-1) two Saturdays ago dropped the Lions out of what had been a tie between those two teams.

Jackson State (8-2, 6-0) has a 2-game lead in the SWAC East over Alabama State and Florida A&M, while Southern U. (6-4, 5-1) leads the SWAC West after the Jaguars survived a 25-23 decision in 5 overtimes over Bethune-Cookman. Alcorn State (5-5, 4-2) sits in solo second.

Florida A&M (5-4, 3-2 East) was a 31-12 loser at PVAMU, a 16.5-point underdog.

In the Big South-OVC, SE Missouri (8-2, 5-1) fell into a tie for first with a 24-12 loss at Lindenwood as a 16.5-point favorite. UT Martin is also 5-1 in the league after the Skyhawks (7-3, 5-1) flew to a 40-14 win at Charleston Southern.

FCS vs. FBS

All games week were FCS vs. FCS, except for Mercyhurst hosting D2 Lincoln (CA) and rolling to a 66-0 win.

FBS schools are 110-6 in FBS-FCS games this season. They are a cumulative 1,910-158 (.924) since we began tracking this in 2003.

In 2024, there were 121 matchups scheduled between FBS and FCS schools with 119 playing one such game, while Hawaii and UMass each play two.

This year, 15 schools were not scheduled to play a FCS opponent. Of those fifteen schools, 5 are in the B1G (Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, USC and UCLA). Texas is the only school in the SEC that will not play a FCS program. The same is true for Virginia Tech in the ACC. In fact, Texas and Virginia Tech, along with Michigan and Houston, are repeats from last year's list of schools that played all FBS programs.
