The top 13 remain the same in the latest FCS Congrove Computer Rankings, released Sunday morning, but Mercer made a meteoric rise from 30th to 14th on the heels of a 63-13 romp over Morehead State. The win by the Bears exceeded the sportsbook spread by 26 points and the computer's projected Mercer win margin by 45 points.
Meanwhile, Morehead State descended from No. 39 to No. 100.
Florida A&M plummeted out of the top 25 (24 to 41) with the expected loss at North Carolina, and Austin Peay slipped from 23 to 39. Those losses to FBS schools will mean less as the season moves on.
Jacksonville State rose from 44 to 30 for dropping SFA 42-17. Conversely, Stephen F. Austin fell from 42 to 89.
The bottom 5 out of the 130 FCS schools are Lindenwood (126), Houston Baptist (127), Wagner (1298, Idaho State (129) and Stonehiill (130).
