The Congrove Computer Rankings at CollegeFootballPoll.com were released after the completion of the weekend's games and saw some shake-up among the top five teams. Most notable was South Dakota State's jump from 5th to 1st. The move isn't really that dramatic when you consider that only 1.90 ratings points separate 1st from 5th. Still, the top-seed Jackrabbits scored a dominating 42-6 win over Delaware in the FCS Playoffs on Saturday,
Jackson State stays in 2nd after winning the SWAC Championship 43-24 over Southern. Not long after that game was over, it was confirmed that Deion Sanders is leaving the Tigers to become the head coach at Colorado. Sanders will stay on to lead his JSU team against North Carolina Central in the Celebration Bowl on December 17.
Playoff 4-seed Montana State also stays put at No. 3 in the rankings on the heels of 33-25 win over Weber State. That contest was a rematch of a regular season game which the Bobcats won 43-38.
Playoff 2-seed Sacramento State dropped from No. 1 in the rankings to No. 4. The Hornets were 38-31 winners over Richmond on Saturday.
Incarnate Word, the No. 7 seed in the playoffs, inched downward from 4th to 5th in the rankings after getting past Furman 41-38. UIW had coach G.J. Kinne is leaving the school as head coach to take the same position at Texas State, but sticking with the Cardinals for as long as they can keep riding the playoff train.
Holy Cross, North Dakota State, William & Mary and Samford are ranked 6th-through-9th as the eight remaining playoff teams hold 8 of the top 9 slots in the rankings. Jacksonville State, which will move to the FBS next season, is ranked 10th.
