Idle South Dakota State got passed by Delaware and South Dakota in this week's FCS Congrove Computer Rankings of all 129 FCS teams. The Blue Hens, however, are ineligible for the FCS playoffs as they move to the FBS next season.
Delaware rolled to a 49-0 home win over Sacred Heart, and the Coyotes handed Southern Illinois a much worse than expected 42-13 defeat.
North Dakota State is 4th after a 42-10 win at Illinois State, and Montana State is 5th following Saturday's 37-17 triumph at Idaho State.
Idaho fell from 5th to 8th with the 28-26 loss at UC Davis which moved up to 13th.
North Dakota and Villanova round out the top ten.
Three different teams have held the No. 1 spot with the Jackrabbits in possession in weeks 1 and 5, the South Dakota Coyotes in week 2, and Delaware in weeks 3 and 4 and 6.
The FCS version of the Congrove Computer Rankings began in the 2020 Covid season. The FBS version of the rankings has been around since 1993 and is a recognized national selector by the NCAA. An NFL version began this year.
