The Colonial's James Madison stays at No. 1, but teams from the Big Sky and Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) dominate the Top 12.
The MVFC has North Dakota State ranked 2nd, South Dakota State 3rd, Southern Illinois 11th and Northern Iowa 12th. The Big Sky has UC Davis, Montana State, Montana and Eastern Washington occupying 5th through 8th.
Sam Houston State, an AQ7 school this year, fell a notch from to 4th. Ivy members Dartmouth and Princeton to 9th and 10th, respectively.
After an upset loss at Grambling State, defending SWAC champ Alabama A&M tumbled from 9th to 21st.
Only 11 FCS teams remain undefeated while 14 teams have yet to win a game. Three of the unbeatens are Ivy League schools that have only played 3 games.
