FCS Computer Rankings - Major Shakeup After Weekend Carnage

The Top Five get reshuffled while two teams drop out of the Top 10, and two more fall from the Top 25 in the latest FCS version of the Congrove Computer Rankings at CollegeFootballPoll.com.

South Dakota State and Montana State remain 1-2 after the Jackrabbits dispatched then-No. 7 North Dakota 42-21, and the Bobcats downed visiting Portland State 38-22. The The Fighting Hawks crash land at No. 19 with the loss.

South Dakota State, Montana State and Portland State are the top three scoring teams in the FCS.

Furman rises from 5th to 3rd after a in an idle week, while William & Mary (4-1) is able to stay at No. 4 after losing 14-6 at Elon. The Phoenix (3-2) rise from 19th to 16th.

North Dakota State (3-1) only drops two spots from 3rd to 5th after a 24-19 loss at home to South Dakota (3-1). The Coyotes rise from 25th to 18th.

Southern Illinois jumps from 9th to 6th after a 33-20 win over Missouri State, while Sacramento State drops one spot to No. 7 after barely surviving Northern Arizona at home, 31-30.

Idaho continues its ascent, climbing two notches to No. 8 after a 44-36 win at Eastern Washington.

Western Carolina soars into the top 10 at No. 9 after the Kerwin Bell-coached Catamounts were 49-14 winners at The Citadel.

Chattanooga closes out the top 10 after a 23-13 win at woeful Wofford.

Youngstown State fell from 8th to 21st after a a 44-41 loss at then-No. 37 Northern Iowa.

Four Big Sky teams are ranked among the first 11, and four teams from the Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) are among the top 12. The SoCon joins the MVFC and the Big Sky with three schools in the Top 10 while the CAA has one.

Over-all, eight conferences have at least one member in the Top 25.
