FCS College Football Computer Rankings: Montana State Stays No. 2 After Loss

Regardless of a 24-21 loss at Idaho on Saturday, Montana State retains its No. 2 ranking in the newest FCS version of the Congrove Computer Rankings was released early Sunday morning on CollegeFootballPoll.com. The Vandals only advanced one spot from 11th to 10th. Both schools are 6-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play. Montana State has a power rating of 67.21, compared to 57.17 for Idaho.

South Dakota State remains a solid No.1 as the only undefeated team (over-all) in the entire FCS. The Jackrabbits rolled 37-3 at South Dakota which was ranked 9th heading into that contest. The Coyotes fell to 18th.

Delaware jumped Furman for the No. 3 spot after dismantling Towson 51-13 on the road. The Paladins eked-out a 16-8 win at home over ETS after entering that game as 24.5-point favorites in the sportsbooks and a 20.35-point computer pick.

Montana, a 40-0 home winner over Northern Colorado, holds steady at No. 5.

North Dakota State, which visits South Dakota State this Saturday for the Dakota Marker, moved up from 8th to 6th on the heels of a 38-6 home win over Murray State.

UIW remains 7th. The Cardinals won 17-7 at Lamar.

Austin Peay slipped from 6th to 8th after a 49-39 home win over North Alabama. The Governors were 21.5-point favorites at the sportsbooks and a 24.32-point computer pick.

NC Central jumped from 12th to 9th after a 62-28 romp at home over South Carolina State.

Following Idaho at No. 10 are Sacramento State (+ 4 spots), Southern Illinois (+6), and Villanova (+3).

Chattanooga slipped from 10th to 14th after escaping with a 24-23 win at VMI as a 19-point favorite and a 21.30-point computer pick.
