Sun Belt Conference Announces Preseason Coaches Poll
Sun Belt Conference Release
July 16, 2012
CFP – The Sun Belt Conference coaches' preseason poll has been released and, just like last season, FIU received 5 of the available 1st-place votes. Arkansas State and Louisiana-Lafayette were each listed No. 1 on two coaches' ballots, while Western Kentucky picked up the remaining 1st-place vote.
Arkansas State won the conference's 2011 title with an unblemished league record of 8-0 as it finished 10-3 overall. Western Kentucky was second with a 7-1 conference mark and overall record of 7-5, but the Hilltoppers failed to receive a bowl bid. Those went to the Red Wolves, Ragin' Cajuns and Golden Panthers.
