NOTES: Notre Dame is automatically eligible for all bowls in which the Big East has a commitment, as well as the BCS.
Sun Belt teams are next in line to fill slots in the St. Petersburg, PapaJohns.com and Independence Bowls if primary conferences do not have an eligible team. The WAC has a similar provisional arrangement with the Poinsettia and GMAC Bowls.
a-Explanation of BCS Projections: After the BCS title game is settled, the bowl that loses a host champ gets to replace that champion. The Sugar loses Georgia so it picks first. It could take the runner-up SEC team, but we think it would make sure it landed an eligible conference champ that travels well - (i.e., West Virginia). After that, the Orange takes the ACC champ (VT). Next, the Fiesta takes Kansas as the Big 12 champ. Then it goes back to the Orange which isn't going to skip on Florida. The Fiesta will take BYU because of its regional tie-in. That sends Oregon to the Sugar which is ecstatic because new blood equals good travel.
