Prince Fired By Kansas State After Less Than Three Seasons

Ron Prince was fired Wednesday, effective the end of the season, from his head coaching job at Kansas State. Prince has spent less than three seasons at the helm after replacing Bill Snyder when he retired at the end of the 2005 season.

Prince's record with the Wildcats is 16-18, including a loss to Rutgers in the Texas Bowl in his first season. His seasonal records have been on the mark with the computer's expectations each season. The 2006 teams finished 2 games better than expected, and last year's squad underperformed expectations by just one win. This year, the computer projected a 5-7 season. So far, the 'Cats are 4-5 and in the midst of a 3-game losing streak.

A 52-21 loss at state rival Kansas last Saturday appeared to be too much for Kansas State athletic director Bob Krause.
