Nick Saban is in his second season at Alabama with a record of 15-6 (.714) and 15th overall with a record of 121-65-1 (.650). The Crimson Tide's offensive coordinator is Jim McElwain and the defensive coordinator is Kirby Smart .

Les Miles is in his fourth season at LSU with a record of 40-8 (.833) and eighth overall with a record of 68-28 (.708). The Tigers' offensive coordinator is Gary Crowton and the defensive coordinators are Doug Mallory and Bradley Peveto.


Mark Ingram (Flint, Mich.) ranks second on the team in rushing and seventh in the SEC with 59.2 yards per game (533 yards on 94 carries) and a team-best eight touchdowns. John Parker Wilson has completed 69.0 percent of his passes away from Bryant-Denny Stadium for 647 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. Wilson boasts a passing efficiency rating of 149.46 in four games away from home this season. Glen Coffee ranks fourth in the SEC and 30th nationally in rushing at 99.33 yards per game and is second among the top 10 SEC rushers at 6.6 yards per carry.

Rahim Alem leads the SEC in both total sacks (6.0) and sacks per game (0.75). In eight games, Alem's six sacks have accounted for 48 yards in losses. He's also added eight tackles for losses, four QB hurries, two forced fumbles, two PBUs and a blocked field goal. Alem's eight tackles for losses tie for the sixth-highest total in the SEC. With a pair of sacks vs. South Carolina, LSU DE Tyson Jackson ran his career total to 18.5, which ranks eighth in school history. This year, Jackson has 4.5 sacks to his credit to rank fourth in the SEC.


Rashad Johnson made Homecoming 2008 one he will remember forever. He matched his career high with 13 tackles and found the end zone for the first time in his career with a 32-yard interception return. He also registered a career-best 2.5 tackles for loss and broke up his team-high 10th pass of the season. Dont'a Hightower is third on the team in tackles with 42 stops - 19 solo - in nine games (4.4 tackles per game). Hightower has also forced one fumble and recovered two more to rank tied for fifth in the SEC at .22 per game.

Charles Scott has rushed for 100 or more yards six times this year and he ranks second in the league with 111.1 yards per game. LSU QB Jarrett Lee has thrown for 1,427 yards and 12 scores, while WR Brandon LaFell is tops on the team with 39 catches for 572 yards and 6 TDs.


Leigh Tiffin has connected on 13 of 18 field goals this season and all 33 extra points. He is tied for second in the SEC and tied for 24th nationally in field goals per game at 1.44. Tiffin also ranks tied for fourth in the league and tied for 38th nationally in scoring at 8.00 points per game. He is 9 for 11 this season from inside 40 yards with a long of 54 yards vs. Clemson. P.J. Fitzgerald has been outstanding in five SEC games, averaging 42.6 on 19 punts.

Colt David is the school's all-time leading scorer, moving past Kevin Faulk's total of 318 points. David now has 329 points during his career, a figure that ranks No. 6 in SEC history. David has kicked 46 field goals during his career, third-most in LSU history. Of his 46 field goals, 13 have come from at least 40 yards out, including the career-long 51-yarder he connected on against Georgia to break the school record for scoring. David is currently riding a streak of 98 successful PATs, which is the 13th longest streak in SEC history.

Alabama leads the all-time series with LSU 43-23-5, but the Tigers have reeled off five straight wins in the series, including a come-from-behind 41-34 win last season in Tuscaloosa... The Crimson Tide's last win in the series was a 31-0 victory in Baton Rouge on Nov. 16, 2002... The series dates back to a 12-6 LSU win in 1895... The Crimson Tide own a 24-8-2 edge in games played in Baton Rouge.
