Preview: Florida vs. Georgia (at Jacksonville)

THE COACHES

Urban Meyer is in his fourth season at Florida with a record of 37-8 (.822) and in his eighth season overall with a record of 76-17 (.817). The Gators' offensive coordinator is Dan Mullen and Charlie Strong serves as the defensive coordinator.

Mark Richt is in his eighth season at Georgia and overall with a record of 79-20 (.798). The Bulldogs' offensive coordinator is Mike Bobo and the defensive coordinator is Willie Martinez.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN FLORIDA HAS THE BALL

Darryl Gamble tied a Georgia and SEC record after returning a pair of interceptions for touchdowns in the Bulldogs' 52-38 win over #11 LSU in Baton Rouge. Gamble also had a career-high 13 tackles, which was second on the team against the Tigers. Rennie Curran continues to lead the team in tackles (69), including a career-high 14 against No. 11 LSU and No. 8 Alabama. Curran has been the Bulldogs' top tackler six times this season and also leads the team with 3.0 sacks.

Against Kentucky, Tim Tebow rushed for two touchdowns to bring his career total to 36. The amount is tied with Emmitt Smith for the most in school history. Jeff Demps' average of 11.9 yards per carry leads the nation (min. 25 attempts). His average TD run this year is 47 yards. He had the first receiving touchdown of his career vs. UK on a 61-yard reception. Over the last three games, Demps and Chris Rainey have carried the ball 52 times for 487 yards and four rushing touchdowns (avg. 9.4 per carry). Percy Harvin has scored a touchdown in each of the last nine games he has played in.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN GEORGIA HAS THE BALL

Matthew Stafford is 24-5 as a starter and has 6,218 yards with 38 TD's in his career. Knowshon Moreno registered his third-highest rushing total of the season after tallying 163 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries to lead Georgia to a 52-38 win at #11 LSU. Georgia's top two receiving threats are freshman FLK A.J. Green (39 rec., 662 yds., 5 TD's) and senior SE Mohamed Massaquoi (28 rec., 366 yds., 4 TD's).

Brandon Spikes is third in the SEC in tackles per game this year and is 44th nationally with 8.67. Spikes has led the Gators in tackles in eight of the last 11 games he has played in. In addition, he has recorded 10-or-more tackles in five of his last eight outings. Ahmad Black recorded his team-leading third interception of the season against Kentucky. Carlos Dunlap is fourth in the SEC in sacks per game (.57) and is tied for 58th nationally.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Blair Walsh is 12-for-17 on the year in field goal attempts but three of his misses have come from 50+ yards. He is 2-for-5 from that range. Brian Mimbs is averaging 43.8 yards a punt with 11 inside the 20 and seven covering 50+ yards. He is also the holder for Walsh. Ramarcus Brown is averaging 24.0 yds./return. Brown had a season-long 44-yarder at Arizona State. He had 146 yards on six returns against Alabama.

Brandon James is one of three players in the country to return two punts for touchdowns this season. Demps blocked the second punt of his career in UF's last game against Kentucky. Jonathan Phillips improved to 9-of-9 on field goals by connecting on all three of his attempts against LSU. Chas Henry has averaged 43.8 yards per punt on his 22 kicks this season, which is second in the SEC.

Saturday will mark only the fifth time in the history of the Florida series that it will feature a pair of top 10 nationally ranked teams... The Georgia-Florida game in Jacksonville is one of the more unique rivalry game sites in the nation... It features a 50-50 ticket split and is under contract through 2010... The city of Jacksonville estimates the general revenue generated by the game is between $25-$30 million... The series has been played in Jacksonville annually since 1933 with the exception of two years... In 1994-95, the game moved on campus while the Gator Bowl transformed into Alltel Stadium for the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars.
