Mark Richt is in his ninth season at Georgia and overall with a record of 89-27 (.767). The Bulldogs’ offensive coordinator is Mike Bobo. Richt will work along with defensive line coach Rodney Garner, and graduate assistants Todd Hartley and Mitch Doolittle in preparing the defense for the bowl game.
Mike Sherman is in his second season at Texas A&M with a record of 10-14 (.417) and in his eighth season overall with a record of 69-57 (.548). The Aggies’ offensive coordinator is Nolan Cromwell and the defensive coordinator is Joe Kines.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN GEORGIA HAS THE BALL
Washaun Ealey is the team’s leading rusher with 649 yards on 112 carries. Ealey has three touchdowns, while Caleb King has five. Joe Cox started all 12 game at quarterback, completing 170 of 303 passes for 2426 yards, 22 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. A.J. Green, who missed some games late due to injury was the team’s leading receiver with 751 yards and six touchdowns.
Von Miller, playing at the hybrid “jack” position, has racked up 21 tackles for loss and a nation-leading 17 sacks and sits just three sacks shy of tying the school record. He also forced a team-high four fumbles and broke up five passes, second most on the defense. Trent Hunter started all 12 games at strong safety and led the defense in tackles
(87) and solo stops (53).
WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN TEXAS A&M HAS THE BALL
Rennie Curran is the leading tackler in the SEC with 122 on the season, including 64 solo. Justin Houston is second in the SEC with 15.5 tackles for loss, including 7.5 sacks. Reshad Jones brings 68 tacles and three interceptions to the Georgia defense. Brandon Boykin also has three picks on the season. Marcus Dowtin has six TFLs and two sacks for UGA.
Christine Michael ran for 767 yards and nine touchdowns, both team highs, in 11 games. His pair of 100-yard rushing efforts helped A&M to big wins over Texas Tech and Baylor, while setting the school record for longest play from scrimmage with a 97-yard TD run against the Bears. Jerrod Johnson has shattered numerous school records this fall in leading the Aggies to a bowl berth. The junior has thrown for a school record 28 touchdowns and became the first player in A&M history to surpass 3,000 yards through the air (3,217). Lee Grimes, who has started 11 games at right tackle, is an anchor of an offensive line who helped the Big 12’s best offense to an average of over 465 yards per game during the regular season.
Georgia CFP and FWAA All-American Drew Butler has been named the winner of the 2009 Ray Guy Award, which is presented annually to college football’s top punter by the Greater Augusta Sports Council. Butler is leading the nation in punting with a 48.8 average on 50 punts. Butler and the Bulldogs also lead the NCAA in Net Punting at 42.8. Butler is on pace to become only the third Bulldog in school history to lead the NCAA in punting. He is also on target to break the school’s single season punting average record.
Randy Bullock is 12-18 on field goals this season with a long of 50 yards. Three of his misses came from over 40 yards. As the kickoff man, Bullock has nine touchbacks on the season. Cyrus Gray leads the team in kickoff returns with a 25.5 average, including a 99 yard return for a touchdown.

The last time A&M and Georgia faced each other on the gridiron was 1980 in Athens with a Bulldog freshman running back by the name of Herschel Walker leading Georgia to a 42-0 victory... The overall record is in favor of A&M, 3-1... The Aggie Presidential Bowl victory in 1950 (40-20), a 14-12 A&M decision over Georgia in a game played in Dallas in 1953, and an Aggie 6-0 victory in 1954 played in Athens, which was the first A&M win for new head coach Paul "Bear" Bryant...The Bulldogs have made one previous trip to the Shreveport bowl in 1991. Led by quarterback Eric Zeier, Ray Goff's 'Dogs defeated Arkansas, 24-15, in the Razorbacks' final game as a member of the Southwest Conference. Arkansas joined the Southeastern Conference in 1992.
